1. a county is a land arrea of local goverment within a country. a county may have cities and towns within its area.
2. saint george cross :
st. george cross is a red cross on a white background used as a symbolic reference to(ca. 275/281 – 23 April 303).The red cross appeared as an emblem of England during the middle age and the crusades and is one of the earliest known emblems representing England. It achieved status as the national flag of England during the sixteenth century. st. george became the patron saint of England in the thirteenth century, and the legend of Saint George slaying a dragon dates from the twelfth century.
saint patrick cross :
St. Patrick's cross is a red saltire (X-shaped cross) on a white field, when considered as a symbol of ireland or of st. patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The antiquity of the association with Ireland and Saint Patrick has been questioned.The cross was used in the regalia of the order of st. patrick established in 1783 as the premier chivalric orderof the kingdom of ireland, and later in the arms and flags of a number of institutions. After the1800 fact of union joined Ireland with the kingdom of great britain
the saltire was added to the British flag to form the union flag still used by the united kingdom. Saint Patrick's Cross is rejected by many Irish nationalists as a British invention.There is no universally accepted flag for the island ireland.
saint andrew cross :
St. Andrew's cross is the national flag of scodland. As the national flag, the Saltire differs from the royal standard of scodland in that it is the Saltire which is the correct flag for all individuals and corporate bodies to fly in order to demonstrate both their loyalty and scottish nationality. It is also, where possible, flown from scottish goverment buildings every day from 8am until sunset, with certain exceptions.The legend states that whilst engaged in prayer on the eve of battle, Ă“engus vowed that if granted victory he would appoint Saint Andrew as the Patron Saint of Scotland.st. andrew become symbol of scotland flag.
